What Are PPE Gloves Used For?

PPE Disposable gloves should be changed for a short time use, universally considered as a tool for maintaining hygienic conditions, ensuring the security of patients and caregivers, and safeguarding against infections. Every professional should wear gloves when she or he may be expososed to blood, body fluids, secretions or excretions and when handling contaminated equipment.

What Are PPE Gloves Used For?

The use of disposable hospital nitrile glove minimizes the possibility of infection, pathogens, and other external factors in medical care industries. These safety gloves protect both the individuals who use them as well as the patient. Disposable gloves are also widely used in industrial area, for example, food processing, electronics, automotive part and other precise instruments manufacturing, avoiding the contamination of dusts or any other hazards and therefore help to keep the finished product high quality.

Furthermore, disposable ppe gloves can be daily used in household purposes for cleaning and dishwashing. Under the threat of CONVID-19, there is a rise in concerns for safety, hygiene, and contamination for everyone. Therefore, the demand for disposable hand sleeves is growing since the year 2020.

The Differences Between Vinyl, Nitrile And Latex Gloves

How do we select PPE gloves? Although vinyl, nitrile, and latex gloves are all considered of medical and industrial grade, but each type of gloves has its own features. If you are new user in the industry, we compiled a helpful guide for you to choose the most convenient gloves.

Vinyl gloves

Vinyl gloves are made of a synthetic polymer derived from petroleum. The strengths of the glove are latex free, resistant to oil, fats and grease,  low-priced compared to the market price of nitrile and latex gloves. The disavantage is that the manufacturing process make it hard and rigid.

Due to the properities of stretch vinyl gloves,  they are recommended to use in non-hazardous and low-infection environments.

Latex glove

Latex glove

Latex gloves are made of natural rubber. They have excellent elasticity,   are easy to wear,  great form fitting, and eco-friendly. The disadvantages are that they may have small odours from the production process, and may cause allergies for some people.

With high levels of flexibility, protection, and comfort, disposable latex gloves are suitable for most medical environments and some precisive assembling industries.  They are somewhat less resistant than synthetic glove materials to puncture and extended chemical exposure. FFP2 Face Mask

FFP2 respirator offers a moderate level of protection against harmful water, particulates and fumes. FFP2 respirator of JQ Care provides 95% protection against particles of at least 0.3 micrometers in diameter. This is about the same level of protection as provided by KN95 respirators (which are designed to meet the roughly equivalent Chinese standardGB2626-2019 ).

Exhalation valves are more common in ffp2 mask protection as there is greater breathing resistance. Exhalation valves help to reduce the build-up of heat inside the safety mask, improving the comfort for the wearer.

FFP2 Maske Influenza Protection

FFP2 masks protect against brake dust, cotton dust, granite dust, hay, lead dust and fume and softwood dust. They are made for working environments in which deleterious and mutagenic particles can be found in the breathing air. They are most commonly used in the metal and mining industry. Without conformant safety face masks, workers exposed to the above hazards can develop lung cancer and Tuberculosis.

FFP2 respirators are capable to protect toxic materials suspended in the air, such as lead dust, smoke, and aerosol particles, including for protection against COVID-19. The World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommend using FFP2 respirators during the global Coronavirus pandemic.

FFP3 Face Mask

FFP3 respirators provide the highest level of respiratory protection that a disposable mask can offer. A well-fitting FFP3 of JQ Care mask can protect users against fine toxic particulates including asbestos, bacteria, viruses and radioactive particles. These masks are particularly important to where in an environment where asbestos particles are present as which having the potential to cause cancer.

FFP3 (and the equivalent N99 respirators) provide extra protection against toxic fumes and very fine dust, such as asbestos. They also provide even more protection against aerosols, such as those which spread COVID-19. However, as we mentioned, they also make it more difficult to breathe; in many situations, an FFP2 or N95 may provide enough protection.

FFP1/2/3 Mask

Filtering Face Piece (FFP) masks are originally designed for industrial professional use, meet the requirements of EN149 to protect against particulate pollutants such as dust, smoke and aerosols.Tight-fitting FFP masks are also great to protect the wearer against viruses. These respiratory masks reliably filter the smallest particles and droplets from the air. Masks with an exhalation valve offer an extra degree of comfort for the wearer.

The European standard EN149 divides filtering half masks into classes depending on the guaranteed degree of protection. The higher the type of FFP protection is, the tighter the mask is and the better it protects our respiratory system. JQ Care offers ffp1 ffp2 ffp3 mask options for different grade protection. Understanding the differences between FFP1 FFP2 and other levels is essential for workplace safety.

JQ Care provides a comprehensive range of Filtering Face Piece (FFP) protective face mask engineered to meet the stringent EN 149:2001+A1:2009 European standards. Designed for industrial, construction, and healthcare sectors, these respirators offer reliable protection against solid and liquid aerosols, dust, and smoke. From FFP1 (80% filtration) for non-toxic dust to FFP3 (99% filtration) for high-risk hazardous particles, our masks balance respiratory safety with long-shift comfort, featuring optional exhalation valves and adjustable nose clips.

FFP1 vs. FFP2 vs. FFP3: Understanding Filtration Efficiency & Protection Levels

Throughout the pandemic, more and more people build awareness of mask usage and classification, you might be confused by the choices of mask. Precisely, you need to balance the cost, comfort, and availability of various types of masks against their effectiveness for what you’ll need them to do.

Unfiltered surgical face masks provide appropriate daily protection with its non-woven meltblown filter media later. The ffp 1 2 3 classification system helps users identify the filtration efficiency required for specific environments. FFP1 mask, FFP2 (KN95), and FFP3 (KN99) respirators provide more protection, FFP2 and KN95 respirators, in particular, are recommended as providing high-quality protection against the spread of respiratory illness. Half-mask respirators design provides equally good protection and may be even more comfortable and cost-effective than standard respirators, especially if you’ll be wearing them for long hours.

In conclusion, you should choose the mask or respirator to fit your use situation. If you’re working on a construction project or in an enclosed space with a lot of people and the risk of COVID-19 spread, keeping yourself safe is more important than comfort, a respirator is recommmended. If you need to wear protection for many hours but there is little direct risk of COVID-19 exposure, wearing a disposable face mask or surgical mask may make more sense.
